4. How did He Do It?

How was Gandhi Able to do all of the amazing things that I described on Page 3? Surprisingly Gandhi was "All around India" and he could easily send his ideas out to the Public. Hear how he did it.
1. The Ashrams: Ashrams are like communities where Indians lived and worked together and Gandhi spread his ideas here. The most important Ashram is the Wardha Ashram, this is the one that Gandhi lived at.
2. Fasts: Fasts were very important because they were the way that Gandhi won most of his "battles" against the British. The Fasts unto Death were fasts were Gandhi would actually Die if he was not stopped. The British were worried because if Gandhi died then a riot might break out in India, so they would always give in to Gandhi's Demands.
3. Civil Disobedience: This is one of Gandhi's ways that people could help free India by doing things like holding up traffic or Marching and illegally breaking a law. One Famous Example is the Salt March where Gandhi and Mrs. Naidu, the Leader of the Indian National Congress, Marched down to the Sea and Made their own salt. Gandhi was arrested but riots broke out and thus the Viceroy agreed on the Delhi Pact.
4. Marches: Just like Martin Luther King's Marches Gandhi's involved Causing Civil Disobedience and displaying resistance in a Nonviolent way. Using Satyagrata Gandhi never let a marcher lay a finger on the British police even though the Indians were beaten. This Gained worldwide sympathy.
5.Newsletters: Monthly Newsletters like the Harijans and Young India helped spread his ideas in areas that Gandhi could not even visit, thus educating India.
Gandhi was very smart and that is why India Gained it's independence but for each legend there must be an end. The last section describes his Death and his Legacy.
