5. Conclusion: His Legacy
"Oh God." These were the last words spoken by Mahatma Gandhi when he was shot as he was about to pray in the temple. A Hindu Fanatic Named Nathan Godse was arrested and hanged for the Murder. Godse wanted Hindus and Muslims to isolate themselves from each other, and as long as Gandhi lived, Gandhi would try to bring the Religions closer together. On July 30th, 1948 Godse Assassinated Gandhi.
Gandhi's Legacy lives on however, and now today India is it's own nation, free of Colonial rule. Other Famous People such as Martin Luther King emulated his Nonviolent Campaigns in the fight for Civil Rights for blacks. It is ironic that this great man who embraced Nonviolence should die in such a violent manner. However, this "Strange little Brown Man" shook the World in such a way that everybody cannot help but be amazed at his accomplishments.
